      The Texas Gulf Coast petroleum refining and chemical products industry is the largest of its kind in the United States and second largest in the world. The refining and petrochemical permanent jobs within the Houston metropolitan area total just over 343,000. The Gross Product Activity of the refining and petrochemical companies surpasses $100 billion.

League City is the home to several companies that provide services to the petrochemical industry.  Its location directly on Interstate 45, proximity to the Houston, Texas City and Galveston ports and the Bayport Industrial District provides excellent access for petrochemical service providers.
